The term
'holistic'
indicates that there is something which can be 'wholly' considerated.
On the other hand, the term also implicates that another way of considering the same thing
can also be 'unwholly'.
This may sound similar to 'unholy' and maybe there is some reason.
For whatever way may bring us humans back to our inborn wholeness,
it also can be spoken of as
holistic
or even as 'holy', if you want so.
So, not only in the English language, the word 'whole' shows some similarities
with the word
'holy'.
Also in the German language, the original meaning
of the adjective 'heil' is 'whole'.
It also can mean something like 'healed' or 'still unviolated'.
In history, the substantive of the word 'Heil' has been abused by egotistic people.
But the original meaning is something like 'wholeness' and also health.
In English language,
it is easy to see that this term
health
is written in a very similar (or you can even say: the same) way as the term
'to heal'.
Time alone doesn't heal.
Because the illusory river of time
- along with it's 'twin brother' space -
also can bring us away from our consciousness of
health.
What is it that gives (back)
health?
God promised to send the Great Comforter.
And He did - many times.
Didn't you read that in the newspaper, when it happened?
No? Why not?
If you didn't read it in the newspaper,
do you think that that would mean that it would not have happened
and would not happen still?
It happens all the time,
with many living beings
- for most of them in a more subconscious way.
Not only, but surely in the old
Indian
science of
Yoga,
it is exactly described how the flowing of the divine energy
that they call
Prana
in Sanscrit
- how and where in the human organism this flowing is happening
and why this causes the substantive forces of what we call
health.
So the point-of-view of the author is, that
actually, the
holistic way of scientifically seeing things
should not be only considered or spoken of as an
alternative way but as the
basic way because it finds its fundamental principles in the holy scriptures
AND in practical life as well.
"Time is only real in the present tense."
... And time only heals if we use it properly, for instance for applying
methods such as those coming out from the
holistic science
of
Yoga.
